Intelligent Design. Egads! Intellectuals run for the hills. Many who pay any attention to the Intelligent Design “Theory” or “Position” and the development of it as a movement quickly turn away or dismiss it. Why? Those in the scientific community do it because it is not a legitimate theory due to its inability to be proven, at least from the side of proof of the “Designer”. Others probably turn away because of the messengers. The same messengers who paint Jesus as a free market capitalist and push their agenda socially, politically and scientifically. Thus, the potential of the reality of Intelligent Design is lost to the age-old dichotomy between science and religion. We lose ourselves in the argument instead of the intellectual analysis of its possibility. This is not some veiled attempt to posit the theory, but an individual’s desire to ask questions. Questions, in some instances, that cannot be answered but should be thought and pondered. The difficulty, as stated, is the argument. Proof of a designer is not empirically measurable, from a scientific perspective.
