Darius, sorry, I did not mean to oversimplify the issue. My wife and I have been discussing this for 20 years since she first came to the US. There is a lot of hope and energy among people from their mid-thirties and below here and that is the promise that may eventually be realized for them. Ironically, we are living better here in many ways than in the US, so we are both grateful. However, that old Soviet attitude still seeps through in dealing with members of certain generations and it is hard to ignore it.
