Guns and Flowers

--

A Poem from Ukraine During War

Photo by 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

In the wild fields of flowers
Guns of Ukraine roar louder
So far away we cannot hear
From our lives here in the rear
But every one of our fallen we feel
Every wound we seek to heal
Through these bitter years
Mingling million’s tears
We stand and in our own way, fight
Guns, words, money, Ukraine’s might
And some day, there will be room
Without guns, for flowers to bloom.
