Here in Ukraine, we may have an entirely different outlook as we are wounded and need a salve for our souls. Out there in your safe world, it is an altogether different reality than it is for us. Understanding that it's all just a mystery that we will never understand with our rational minds is the Eastern Orthodox way (personally, I prefer the Seeker by The Who as a guide.."I won't get to get what I'm after until the day I die."). The salve that works for many of us here can be found in a book "Orthodox Psychotherapy by Metropolitan of Nafpatkos of Ierotheos”. When the war's over, maybe we will focus again on other things. Our comfort comes from hope that will we rise from the ashes. This is the transfiguration/transformation gospel or myth, (whatever you want to label it) inherent within Eastern Orthodoxy that applies to our souls and this land.
