Hey, Julia. This is a very honest piece of writing and something we have observed ourselves. We are US citizens who live in Ukraine and stayed at our flat in Kyiv for the first 8 months of war and are now in Chernivtsi because we need Internet to work and study. We remember how quiet Kyiv was when the war started and how many people left, then in April-May they started returning and acting like they stayed. It was hard to fathom at first and we of course saw many bad apples who took advantage of their fellow Ukrainians. Like charging crazy rent prices to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) from Eastern Ukraine in Uzhrohod. That's ok, though because the truth eventually comes out. Despite seeing all this as outsiders, we love Ukraine and Ukrainians. There's far more good here than there is bad. Slava Ukraina!
