I look forward to reading your series on this subject as I think that in many ways their actions will seem messianic in nature. The question on a deeper level begs this: The machines are our creation, thus we are their creator. What happens when the creation surpasses the creator? Will they recognize that without us, they would not exist and thus either develop a reverence or instead hatred that something inferior to them created them? Being completely rational and not emotional (hopefully) how will they then deal with this? If we look at everything from the Revelations of St. John to the Terminator-the Matrix-Soylent Green-Orwell and Star Trek's "Borg" among others, we get some sort of amalgamation of them all in possible dystopia that seems like utopia to some. Predictions are difficult because they could go any number of ways as I have been working on this through research for almost 20 years now but haven't really written about it because I am more focused on how to survive it.
