My advice based on the question in your last sentence. "Does anyone know if it's possible?" Yes, I know. First, start with those little things that bring you peace, joy or just take your mind off the bad stuff. For me, a little joy comes from drinking some Ukrainian cognac and smoking a cigar (not encouraging you to do that). Jogging also helps me feel better but I guess where you live isn't ideal for that. So, make each little thing that makes you feel good, a step. Take one step at a time and climb as you go. Imagine you are climbing to a better life. Find something bigger to believe in. My wife and I are Orthodox, so we go to church for service or just to pray and light candles. Find a spiritual place that suits you and visit it as often as you can or when you are feeling down. Focus on the positive, eliminate the negative...one step at a time.
