Personally, as a US dude in the Ukraine War, I think that some lessons can be learned from the Ukrainians (Land of the original Amazon's as well as Cossack Warriors). Here, the word for wife is "druzhina" which simply defined means "fellowship" but also has a military connotation in relation to a fighting force. My druzhina is part Ukrainian and all Jersey Girl and we are foxhole buddies throughout the war. Thus, maybe the problem is more cultural as I don't really see it as much here in Ukraine. Women are respected and held in high regard for the most part and this is a highly patriarchal society.
