The concept is called theodicy. St. John of Tobolsk wrote about it and published his book "The Sunflower" in 1715. I am sitting here in the Ukraine War and seeing actual suffering, pain, death and destruction every day. St. John's book is helping me to better understand it while it is happening in real time.
