This war is not our life. Our life is not this war. The war is just a chapter in all our lives in Ukraine and beyond, I suppose. Many have lived their last chapter in this war beginning in 2014. May God have mercy on their souls. Some have been born into war and it is their first chapter of life. Among them, some had their first and last chapter in this war. Dead children who knew nothing but war from the day they were born until a Muscovite projectile took their little life. How can we feel mercy toward those that would do this to a child? What power has been unleashed upon us? What has that power achieved at the cost of all these lives? Nothing. A blank chapter for one hundred and ninety million russians or so. We will write that chapter for them when the war ends. Their own people are writing it in Belgorod right now.

Each book of life is different from every other. Those whose books are written with chapters of war may seem completely removed from those outside the war. However, the human condition is also the same now for many no matter what external circumstances exist. Suffering in war though would seem to be its own particular type. It may be the same on a physical level. Lack of food, an empty belly, a cold basement, ringing in the ears from explosions, burning skin all are experienced on that human level.
