Very well said, Alice. The war is just the beginning of a long road to recovery. Being married to a Belarusian, I was enamored of Russian culture for years. I had no idea how much Imperial Russia had crushed and suppressed Ukrainian culture all around. The world is just beginning to wake up to the long reality of this. Classic Ukrainian literature is barely available in English as are many other great works. Educating the world about the differences and the suppression will take time and patience. I really hope that Ukraine takes some of the advice that Arestovich is giving. Reclaim your ancient heritage first and build upon that for it is a glorious and rich past that Russia has no business claiming for its own. Slava Ukraina!
