Well, as a US citizen with no Ukrainian roots or blood, I often asked myself the same thing. Really, I didn't feel like running and felt that it was important to stay here as an American with you, Ukrainians. Even though life in the US is quite different and comfortable, we never forget those who fought and died all this years ago in the Revolutionary War. That means something to us just like this war will change your history. So, I guess my wife and I felt like we should stay because of that and because living in fear is no way to live. For us, it is our Orthodox faith that has also kept us strong along with faith in Ukraine's Armed Forces.
