Well, I work abroad or better yet, I now live abroad. That was never really my intention, it just fell into my lap. First, I am not a Digital Nomad but have been a remote worker since 2013 at the same task of logistics. Now, I do like the option of being able to travel when I feel like it and still be able to work as I have done it on a number of occasions to coincide with my wife's vacation time. Here's the rub. I have been working remotely from Ukraine since 2020 and have not left the country once. Only relocated west for about 4 months when the electrical grid in Kyiv was taken out. Full immersion works better due to my age and the need for my own space. The idea of picking up and moving constantly just does not appeal. But, well, I am Old School on top of being gray and a tad lazy. Good advice in your article for those considering it. I think people are unrealistic of what they expect the experience to actually be.
