Well said, I have added your book on Belarus to a rather long list of books that I would like to read. My wife grew up in the Mogilev region and we almost moved there in 2020 until Sasha decided to steal the elections...again. Now we sit in Kyiv as the war rages and she has gotten in touch with her Ukrainian side (Mother-Belarusian\Father-Ukrainian). Your evaluation of life in London also mirrors to some extent life in the US. Despite the war here, I'd rather be here than there. It became too comfortable and predictable. Not that we wanted to live in a war zone but it has focused our lives and spirits on what matters.
